By Mayra Pierce

Aiming and shooting the target without missing is something that needs technique and a lot of training. Looking for the right trainer to train you in frontsight can make the difference of being a good shooter, a great shooter or just a shooter who can't hit targets. The trainer is the one who determines how the student will be in shooting.

There are some qualities which make a person a good trainer or a bad one. As a student, you should be able to know the right instructor based on the qualities they have; if you know the right qualities they should have. It is not hard to know these qualities, especially after reading through this article with all the qualities highlighted.

Leading by example is a quality that only great instructors possess. There are plenty of instructors that will tell students how to do certain tasks, but will have difficulties performing them themselves. Such an instructor should be avoided at all costs, as they will not be able to help you improve your skills.

A motivated person who has the desire to pass on all the knowledge and skills they have in shooting is the person who will make the right instructor. You have no use with a person who holds something back during training and seems less concerned on your progress. The desire to do it aside, the person should possess the ability to put into action the desire for best results.

Another quality a great instructor possesses is patience and understanding. A good instructor knows that students might be having a hard time with a certain task, or that they have yet to master the information that has been given to them. A student or a beginner will sometimes be worrisome about the instructions, and a good instructor must be able to help the student overcome their fear and help them succeed. A great instructor knows that students will err a few times, but is patient when that happens.

A good instructor normally has a list of goals they would like the student to achieve. A set curriculum that is followed closely will give the student a sense of direction, and will allow them the opportunity to grade themselves based on their previous experience. A good instructor gives the student progressive lessons, and does not skip steps. A good instructor knows that there should be succession and that this will only benefit their student.

A good trainer must have good posture and authoritative voice which gives him the sense of control to students. The kind of vocabulary he uses should also be appropriate for good rapport with the students. These qualities help students focus on the training and listen to anything that the instructor says. A meek instructor will have problem controlling the students, hence, not a good choice.

A good front sight instructor will have high moral standards which will not affect the relationship between the students and him. A person of poor moral standards will take the focus from training to other things or even pursue his students after training. This type of instructor should be avoided at all cost.
